Regional Fed PCE Metrics Moderate Further But Still Above Core PCE

  • Following today’s core PCE release, which showed the three-month accelerate from 3.8 to 4.4% annualized but the six-month and Y/Y unchanged at 3.0% and 2.8% respectively, the below regional Fed measures saw their Y/Y rates moderate a little further but remain above the core PCE figure.
  • Cleveland Fed median: 0.26% M/M in Mar after 0.35% M/M, whilst the Y/Y eased from 3.65% to 3.49% Y/Y for its lowest Nov’21.
  • Dallas Fed trimmed mean: the six-month rate eased from 3.15% to 3.02% annualized (only lowest since Jan) whilst the Y/Y eased from 3.13% to 3.04% Y/Y for its lowest since Oct’21.
