POWER: Renewables Account For 47% of Irish Power Mix in December

Renewables accounted for 46.7% of Ireland’s power mix in December, with wind farm’s being the primary source of renewable electricity, provisional data from EirGrid showed, cited by Renewablesnow.
- Wind farms accounted for 41.4% of the power mix.
- Solar PV output accounted for 0.5% of the power mix.
- Hydropower generation and other renewables reached 4.8% of the power generation.
- Gas-fired power plants accounted for 38% of the gen mix, imports accounted for 12% and 2% was attributed to coal-fired output.
