The Danish Energy Agency has officially adopted a plan to develop the North Sea 1 offshore wind farm, with bids for the project due by 5 December, according to Reuters. 

  • The first three projects - A1, A2, and A3 - in sub-area 1 were tendered earlier this year.
  • The final capacity will be determined by the bid winners, while the Agency expects potential capacity between 5 and 17.45GW.
  • The first wind farms are expected to be operational by the end of 2030.
  • Denmark aims to increase its offshore wind capacity to 6GW by 2030.
