Reports Indicate Atos Unit Sale Discussions Repeatedly Postponed

  • A BBG sources piece is reporting that Atos SE's sale talks with Kretinsky's EP Equity Investments for its legacy IT services unit, Tech Foundations have stalled following a continued postponement by the Atos chairman, Jean-Pierre Mustier.
  • Initial negotiations valued the unit at EUR 2bn though recent reports indicated Atos is demanding an additional EUR 500mn from Kretinsky – sources indicated that Kretinsky is willing to renegotiate but not to that extent.
  • We had viewed the attempt to renegotiate asset sales as risky given the upcoming maturities and ongoing refinancing discussions with creditors. The fact that Atos are negotiating on both fronts weakens their position in discussions.
  • Atos 2024s are streaming €1.22 lower DoD at EUR 39.57 though haven’t streamed since before the update. Longer dated bonds are trading higher DoD though flat since the AM.
