Republicans Slam Pentagon Proposal for US-Russia Military Cooperation in Central Asia

  • Leading Republicans in the US House of Representatives and Senate have expressed concern about the Pentagon's plans to increase US-Russia military coordination on Terrorism in Central Asia stemming from Afghanistan.
    • They warn that any move to coordinate access to military bases or operations with Russia "risks violating the legal ban on military cooperation between the United States and Russia" introduced in 2016

    • Notes at the end of 2020 mortgage portfolio grew by 21%, exceeding the result of 2019, and as of January 1, 2021 amounted to 9.5 trillion rubles for the whole of last year, 1.713 million mortgage loans were provided for a total of 4.3 trillion rubles, which is more than in 2019 both in quantitative terms - by 35% and in monetary terms - by 51%

  • Ukrainian FM Kuleba says there will be a response to the 15Y gas transit deal signed between Hungary and Gazprom that bypasses Ukraine – which he says has dealt a major blow to his country.
  • The discontent seems more aimed at Hungary, however, Ukraine could Lobby the West against Russia on this issue as well
