UK DATA: Retail and Wholesaling Power GDP Rebound in January
- UK Services +0.3% m/m; +0.5% 3m/3m
- UK Retailing and Wholesaling Services add 0.15 pct points to GDP

The dominant services sector continued to perform the heavy lifting 
for the UK economy, despite continued weakness in the financial 
industries. Services added 0.24 percentage points to monthly GDP growth 
of 0.2% and added 0.38 percentage points to 3m/3m growth of 0.2%. 
Retailing and wholesaling accounted for the bulk of the gain on both 
measures, after retail sales leapt by 1.5% in the month of January.  
Financial and insurance activities have not recorded an increase for 11 
straight months, declining by 0.2% in January. On a rolling three-month 
basis, financial services contracted by 0.3%, the ninth straight 
straight decline, shaving 0.02 percentage points from total growth.
