Ringgit Extends Losses

Spot USD/MYR has crept higher this morning, building on Friday's gains. The rate deals at MYR4.2148, up 23 pips on the day, with topside focus on Mar 29 high of MYR4.2260. A jump above there would shift focus to Mar 24 high of MYR4.2373. On the flip side, the initial layer of support has been defined at MYR4.2000, which cushioned losses on Mar 30.

  • UMNO Secretary General Ahmad Maslan said that UMNO and Bersatu have "divorced" and confirmed that they will not cooperate in the next general election.
  • The local data docket is fairly empty this week.
