Rising CPC Loadings Eases Pressure on Europe

Oil tanker loadings from the Black Sea CPC terminal have jumped after a second mooring went into operation mid-November.

  • Flows to the Mediterranean jumped by 90% - the most in four years according to Bloomberg vessel tracking.
  • The Mediterranean will receive 3.52m tons of CPC Blend from November loadings, the most since January 2019 and up from 1.85m tons in October.
  • In total, about 5.67m tons, or 1.49m b/d, of CPC Blend were lifted in November. Daily volume was the highest since February, compared with 3.85m tons, or 982k b/d, in October.
  • Difficulties at the CPC terminal this year has prompted for Kazakhstan to search for alternative routes to get its crude to market. The third mooring remains offline.
