STIR: Risk-off is the theme for STIR markets this morning with all contracts
across the G3 moving higher.
- Continued concerns about the economic impact of US-China trade talks and a
raft of comments form Italian Deputy PM Salvini saying that he is not concerned
about widening spreads and again dismissing EU deficit rules has helped risk
stay on the back foot.
- In the UK, it has been confirmed that May will bring the Brexit bill back to
parliament for a vote in the first week of June, irrespective of whether Labour
support is obtained.
- The short sterling strip has flattened across the curve. Whites are up 0.5-1.5
ticks, Reds 2-3.5 ticks, Greens 4-4.5 ticks and Blues 4.5-5.5 ticks.
- Euribor futures are unch to 1.5 ticks higher for Whites, 1.5-2.5 ticks higher
for Reds, 2.5 ticks higher for Greens and 3-3.5 ticks higher for Blues.
- Eurodollar futures are unch to 4 ticks higher for Whites with the rest of the
strip 4-5.5 ticks higher.
