BOND SUMMARY
BOND SUMMARY: Risk sentiment was dented by the increase in attention/worry
afforded to the Chinese Coronavirus issue over the last couple of days,
seemingly culminating in a notable market reaction when Chinese equity index
futures re-opened today. Also worth reiterating that U.S. President Trump
pointed to bringing "good Policy and additional Hundreds of Billions of Dollars
back to the United States of America" ahead of his address in Davos later today.
- T-Notes were sharply bid, last +0-10+ at 129-12, 0-03+ off highs, with the
cash curve bull flattening. Eurodollar futs +0.5-4.5 ticks through the reds.
- Aussie bond futures edged higher, although 10s underperformed U.S. Tsys, as
the AU/U.S. 10-Year spread widened by ~2.0bp. YM +0.5, XM +1.5 at writing, Bills
running unch. to +1 through the reds. Worth highlighting that a Brisbane man is
being tested for Coronavirus.
- JGB were also on the move, as participants pushed futures higher, last +20
ticks, 5 ticks shy of Tokyo peaks, as the cash curve bull flattens. The latest
BoJ decision provided little in the way of surprises for participants to digest,
with focus moving to Governor Kuroda's press conference, due later today.
