Rotterdam LNG Bunker Sales Hit Record in Q2: Platts

The Port of Rotterdam reported a significant increase in LNG bunkering sales in Q2, reaching a record of 242.931 mcm, according to Platts.

  • This is a rise from the previous record high of 215.247 mcm in Q1.
  • Shipowners find LNG to be an economical choice due to discounts compared to traditional bunker fuels, such as VLSFO.
  • LNG bunker fuel has been priced at a discount to VLSFO since December.
