Rupiah Rangebound, Indonesia To Launch Vaccinations From Jan 14

IDR

USD/IDR consolidates around the levels seen after a dip at the start to the week. The rate last trades flat at IDR13,913, happy to hug a very tight range. Bears eye Jan 4 low of IDR13,865 for initial support and a break here would open the lower 3.0% Bollinger band at IDR13,838. Conversely, should the rate manage to close Monday's opening gap by punching through IDR14,050, bulls would target the 50-DMA/Dec 23 high at IDR14,218/14,232.

  • Indonesian Health Min Budi announced that the Covid-19 vaccination programme will kick off in all 34 provinces on Jan 14, with Pres Widodo and his Cabinet due to inaugurate nation-wide inoculation by getting the first round of shots using the Sinovac jab a day earlier.
  • FinMin Indrawati is set to hold a presser on the 2020 state budget at 14:30 local time, while Foreign Min Marsudi will deliver the annual statement at 13:00.
  • Danareksa Consumer Confidence will be published at some point this week.
