Russia and Turkey Start Work on Gas Hub Implementation

NATURAL GAS

Russia and Turkey have started working on the implementation of the gas hub project in Turkey, according to Gazprom CEO Aleksey Miller on Wednesday.

  • "Turkey and we have recently started working out the gas hub project in this country. This decision was made at the level of heads of two states and we have already initiated its practical execution," Miller said.
  • He added that the gas hub will support transparent and fair pricing on the natural gas market.
  • "The global gas market will continue developing at a high pace and consumption will grow by 20% over the next twenty years," Miller added.
  • Russia and Turkey are aiming to create a new gas hub with the potential for an expansion of the 31.5 Bcm/year TurkStream system as Russia look to increase the ability to redistribute gas output.
