Russia Imposes Diesel Export Quota

OIL PRODUCTS

Russia has imposed a diesel export quota on fuel producers. This month, exports are not allowed to exceed the average of the past 8-months according to Interfax reports citing First Deputy Energy Minister Pavel Sorokin.

  • This is on top of requirements that fuel producers supply at least 50% of produced volumes to the domestic market.
  • Sorokin also said he does not see Russia losing diesel export markets because of the temporary ban.
  • Deputy PM Novak said earlier the resumption of diesel flows had stopped overstocking in the country and supported domestic refinery runs.
  • Exports of diesel fuel from Russia resumed from the country's seaports over the weekend based on Interfax reports.
  • “Over the weekend, 26,000 tonnes were shipped from the port of Novorossiysk, 43,000 tonnes went through Primorsk, while three more tankers are currently being loaded.” Interfax reported.
