Russia Refinery Runs Stagnates in Oct

OIL

Russia’s recovery in crude processing rates has slowed in October, with little additional capacity returning during the rest of the month, according to Bloomberg.

  • Russia processed 5.27m b/d in the week ending Oct. 18, according to Bloomberg, up around 10k b/d on the week and 0.133m b/d below September’s average.
  • “After a string of returning capacity in the first 10 days of October, there are only incremental upside runs in the second half of this month,” Viktor Katona, head crude analyst at market intelligence firm Kpler told Bloomberg.
  • However, according to Katona, 0.2m b/d of additional capacity is expected to return in November, following the completion of maintenance and a production boost before the winter.
