Russia Sees No Need For Diesel Export Ban: Novak

Russia’s Deputy PM Alexander Novak said on Friday there is no need for a Russian ban on diesel exports despite Ukraine’s attacks on Russian oil refineries.

  • Ukrainian attacks have caused 14% of Russian refinery capacity to shut down according to Reuters calculations.
  • Novak said oil refineries have managed to boost output and the government is working to improve fuel deliveries from facilities amid railway bottlenecks.
  • "Our companies have already increased the load at the available capacities. It allowed for more supply, including... gasoline and diesel fuel”, he said.
  • Earlier this year, Russia introduced a six-month ban on gasoline exports that started on 1 March.
