Russia Starts Diesel Exports To Chile

Russia has started diesel exports to Chile, expanding its oil products supplies to Latin America, following the oil product exports embargo by the EU, market sources said and Refinitiv Eikon data showed.

  • Two cargoes with around 73,000 tons of diesel heading to Chile loaded at Russia's Baltic port of Primorsk, Refinitiv data showed.
  • Russia exported around 1.74mn tons in April from Primorsk, compared with 2.07mn tons in March, Bloomberg tanker-tracking data showed.
  • Since the EU embargo on importing oil products of Russian origin went into effect, Russia has diverted its sea-borne diesel supplies to Asia, Africa, the Middle East and increasingly to Latin America.
  • In January-April, Russia exported to Latin and South American countries about 1.5mn tons of diesel, Refinitiv data showed.
