NATGAS
The combined Russian pipeline natural gas and LNG volume in May 24 exceeded US supply into EU and UK for the first time in 21 months, according to ICIS.
- The shift is partly driven by low overall gas demand weighing on LNG imports. LNG imports in May were the second lowest since the start of 2022.
- The US Freeport export terminal works during April may also have weighed on US May arrivals to Europe.
- Russia pipe supplies have also been boosted by maintenance on TurkStream in June while more Russian LNG has been landing in the EU due to the avoidance of Suez.
