Russia Working on Higher LNG Exports

Russia intends to produce 64mn tonnes of LNG annually in the short term according to Deputy Russian Prime Minister Alexander Novak at the Russian Energy Week.

• "We have begun to develop the production of liquefied natural gas as part of our Energy Strategy. We need to step up work here in the current situation. Today we are producing 30 million tonnes at two projects, Sakhalin-2 and Yamal LNG. We plan to increase production in the coming year to 64 million tonnes annually, and the overall goal is to reach 100 million tonnes by 2030, maybe a little later. This gives us about 80-100 billion cubic meters of additional gas that can be supplied to any consumers, not only to the Asia-Pacific region, where there will be the biggest increase in consumption," he said.
• "These are volumes that will be delivered anywhere in the world. To this end we are also incentivizing the relevant work within the framework of import substitution for the production of the necessary LNG equipment," he added.
