Russian Cargo Shipments Via Arctic Route on Track for Record

Cargo shipments along Russia’s Northen Sea Route are on track to reach a record this year of 36.6mn tons, 2023, Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister and Plenipotentiary Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far East Federal District said.

  • “ There will be a record volume of shipping in 2023. We believe today that it will be 36.6 million tonnes. This is more than had been planned", Trutnev said.
  • This is despite crude and condensate shipments via the Arctic ports falling to 255kbpd in November, the lowest level since September 2022 according to Bloomberg ship tracking.
