Russian Crude Output Was 344kbpd Below February Baseline in August

Russian daily crude output averaged 1.310mn tons last month, or 9.605mbpd, meaning Russian exports stood 344kbpd below the February baseline for its 500kbpd output cut according to data from the Russian Energy Ministry.

  • August crude output stood 7kbpd below July levels.
  • The so-called secondary sources used by the OPEC countries estimated Russia’s February crude output at 9.949mbpd. If you use the figure for that month estimated by the Energy Ministry of 10.0mbpd, then Russia cut output against the baseline by 470kbpd.
  • Russia on Wednesday announced to extend its voluntary export cuts of 300kbpd until the end of the year but plans to review cuts on a monthly basis.
