Mikhail Ulyanov, Representative of Russia to International Organisations in Vienna, tweets: "The delegations of #China, #Iran and #Russia met today before the meeting of the Joint Commission of #JCPOA. We compared notes and exchanged views on the way ahead towards full restoration of the nuclear deal. It was a very fruitful meeting."
- Language coming out of Vienna talks has been increasingly positive, with the US having offered a list of potential sanctions to be eased in exchange for Iran coming back into compliance with the nuclear deal.
- US and E3 (France, Germany, UK) likely to be wary, though, of Russian and Chinese objectives with regards to the deal. A hypothetical Iran that opens up to the West may prove a less reliable ally for both Russia and China in the years ahead.
