Russian Domestic Wholesale Gasoline Prices At New Record

OIL PRODUCTS

The average wholesale price of 92-octance Gasoline in Russia rose to a new record of 58,738 roubles/tonne as of Wednesday amid a lack of supply after annual refinery season and peak domestic demand, according to data from the St. Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX) and Reuters calculations.

  • The previous record was 58,731 roubles/tonne on 13 August 2013.
  • Prices started rising more quickly in April due to the start of annual refinery maintenance season.
  • The Russian Energy Ministry said on Wednesday the country is not facing a domestic gasoline shortage after companies cut their exports and domestic refining capacity increased after spring maintenance turnarounds.
  • Russian June gasoline exports fell by 30% month on month.
