Russian Energy Ministry Claims No Domestic Gasoline Shortages

Russia’s energy ministry said it is not facing domestic gasoline shortages after companies cut their exports and domestic refining capacity increased after Spring maintenance turnarounds.

  • Russia’s June gasoline exports fell 30% m/m.
  • The ministry said some refineries have not yet completed repairs and oil companies are following government recommendations to systematically reduce exports.
  • The tighter gasoline market has pushed wholesale gasoline prices in Russia to record levels in June.
