Russian Flows to Europe via TurkStream Hit Second-Highest Level in July

Russian gas supply in July via the TurkStream pipeline to southeast Europe hit the second highest monthly level since the pipeline began operations, Platts said.

  • Russian gas deliveries via TurkStream hit 1.41 bcm in July, averaging 45.5 mcm/d as regional demand for Russian gas remained strong.
  • Russian flows to Europe via Ukraine have remained stable to date in 2024 at around 42 mcm/d. However, Ukraine said it has no intention to extend the deal beyond its expiry at the end of the year.
  • Azerbaijan has also been approached by Kyiv and the EU to help facilitate a potential extension to the deal, according to its president Ilham Aliyev.
