Russian Fuel Exports Slip in October

OIL PRODUCTS

Russian fuel exports fell to 2.1mn bpd in the first three weeks of October according to Vortexa figures – 8% down on September and the lowest since July 2020.

  • Its exports have been hampered by various stages of the export ban as well as the slow return of its refiners from maintenance.
  • Lackluster refinery operations leaves more crude available for exports and also curbs supply of refined fuels. Crude exports out of Russia have been seen growing this month, breaching 300kbd cut levels despite an apparent commitment to them until December.
  • Diesel and gasoil exports slumped to 769,000bpd this month, the lowest since September 2021.
  • Fuel oil exports have gained this month to 745,000bpd, the highest since July.
