LNG
Russian LNG exports to Europe so far this year have reached more than 3.7mn tons, or 5.1Bcm, S&P Global Commodity Insights data show.
- Imports of Russian LNG into the EU last year rose by a third compared to 2021 levels, as no sanctions have yet been imposed on Russian LNG imports.
- EU energy commissioner Kadri Simson on March 9 called on member states to stop buying Russian LNG and to not sign any new contracts with Russia once existing contracts have expired.
