Russian Pipeline Gas Flows to Europe Rose 32% YoY in Q1

Russian natural gas pipeline flows to Europe rose by 32% on the year to 7.7bcm, Energy Intelligence calculates based on gas transmission data showed, due to lower export prices.

  • Turk Stream flows southeastern Europe increased by 48% on the year to 3.9bcm in Q1, which limited spot LNG demand into the region.
  • LNG imports via Greek terminals declined by 12% on the year to 570,000 tons in Q1. Turkish LNG imports fell by 26% on the year to 3.8mn tons in Q1.
  • Gazprom’s supplies via Ukraine rose by 18% on the year to 3.8bcm in Q1.
  • Russian natural gas production stood at around 191bcm in Q1, up by 9% on the year, sources told Energy Intelligence.
