Russian Refinery Runs Push to 5.65mn bpd

REFINING

Russian primary processing rates averaged 5.65 million barrels a day from July 1 to 5, according to a Bloomberg source.

  • It is the highest level since early April and more than 190,000 barrels a day above the average for June 1-28.
  • The main Russian refined product exports other than gasoline have been increasing as refinery runs rise. Gasoline is being kept in the domestic market because of domestic tightness.
  • Russia will likely push more crude from the export markets into refineries in July which will help to try and achieve its 500,000 bpd export cut commitment for August.
  • Russian crude production levels are not expected to fall as part of the export cut.
