Russian Refining Highest Since Start of the Year

Russian refinery processing in July was close to its highest since the start of the year as summer maintenance wound down.

  • Its refineries processed an average of 5.43 mn bpd of oil last month according to a Bloomberg source – 230,000 bpd above June’s average.
  • Russia’s daily refinery runs grew to nearly 5.48 million barrels a day on July 25-31, up by more than 26,000 barrels compared to the week before.
  • Russia’s Tuapse and Omsk refineries appear to have faced minimal damage in recent drone strikes which have been more limited in recent months.
