Russian Seaborne Oil Product Exports Fell 5% MoM In April: Reuters

Russian seaborne oil products fell by 5% on a daily basis month on month in April, data from industry sources and Reuters calculation showed.

  • Russian seaborne oil product exports fell to 11.383mn tonnes in April, from 12.374mn tonnes in March, Reuters data showed.
  • According to Bloomberg data, diesel exports from Russia’s western ports also declined on the month in April to 2.386mn tonnes and are further anticipated to decline to 1.672mn tonnes in May amid spring maintenances.
  • Since the EU embargo on Russian oil products on 5 Feb, Russia has been finding new outlets in Brazil, North Africa, the Middle East and Turkey for its diesel exports.
  • During the next G7 summit at the end of this week, leaders will discuss to tighten energy sanctions against Russia by intending to stop the possibility for Russian oil products to be re-exported to Europe via third countries.
