The Russian Duma Budget and Taxes Committee has approved a tax hike raising profit taxes on LNG exporters to 34% from 20% for 2023-2025, according to Interfax.

The tax increase will only apply to companies that exported gas prior to 31 December 2022.
The increase will not apply to new projects.
