Russia’s Gasoline Prices Up 0.42% in Week: Rosstat

Retail gasoline prices in Russia rose 0.42% in the week July 23-29, Rosstat said, cited by Bloomberg.

  • A litre of gasoline averaged 57.30 roubles in the past week.
  • Gasoline prices rose 2.2 % in the first 29 days of July, compared to inflation at 1.07%. Looking at year to date, gasoline prices have risen 5.2%, above headline inflation of 4.99%.
  • Amid rising gasoline prices and tightening domestic demand, the Russian government has decided to extend its ban on gasoline exports until October, compared to August previously.
  • Diesel prices were up 0.28% in the week to 6.53 roubles/litre.
