Russia’s ULSD Exports From Primorsk Rise To Record

Russia's exports of ultra-low sulphur diesel (ULSD) from the Baltic Sea port of Primorsk are set to rise by 11% this month compared to previous estimates to a record of 1.9mn tons despite the EU embargo on Russian oil products according to Refinitiv data and traders.

  • Russia diverted its diesel supplies from Primorsk to Algeria, Turkey, Tunisia, Morocco, Ghana, Brazil and Saudi Arabia, Refinitiv data show.
  • Some vessels loaded from the port are still nominated as “Gibraltar on order” or “Off-Port-Limit Kalamata” suggesting ship-to-ship transfers or no final destination has been identified, shipping data show.
  • Similar levels are expected in March, market sources said.
