SAGBs Close Firmer W/W, 10Y Eyes 12 Nov Lows

SOUTH AFRICA
  • SAGBs trade a fraction firmer this morning as holiday markets set in, having closed Friday’s session firmer across the curve with a notable bull flattening bias.
  • Yields fell -6.3-15.5bp, with 10-30Y tenors outperforming.
  • 10Y yields took out key support at 9.85, eying the 12 Nov lows, while 30Y yields broke below 10.70 - but still need to tackle 10.53 support before the same lows come into focus.
  • W/w the SAGB curve trades -16-19bp lower across the breadth with 5-10Y tenors most bid.
  • Global risk sentiment should be the key price action driver for SAGBs this week following last week’s FOMC.
