SAGBs Head Into the US NFPs on a Softer Note, But Remain Within Downtrend

  • SAGBs kick off Friday’s session on the backfoot with yields +2.3-3.3bp higher in line with UST yields. Yesterday’s session saw early gains in 10-30Y tenors pared to close +5-9bp bear steeper.
  • W/w the curve is mostly bull steeper with 3m-10Y tenors -7-28.5bp lower, while 15-30Y tenors are seen mostly flat to a fraction higher.
  • Both the 10 & 30Y remain within their recent bear channels ahead of NFPs today.
  • 10Y yields are retesting the 10.00 level this morning, while the 30Y probes 10.60 with the bear channel top above around 10.70.
  • 3x5 FRA-Jiba3m spreads continue to narrow, now standing at +60bp, down from +72bp on 28 March.
