SAGBs Mirror Rising UST Yields as Risk Sentiment Sours

  • Risk sentiment is slowly turning as the US session begins, with SAGBs and ZAR sliding into the red for the day. US equities open mixed to softer after yesterday’s episode of dip-buying.
  • SAGB yields trade +7.5-9.3bp higher in 10-30Y tenors, moving towards key resistance at 10.00 & 10.60 respectively on the back of higher UST yields.
  • USD/ZAR has also found support around 14.7138 and is probing the highs of the day with the cross up +0.17% as a result on broad-based USD strength.
