Saudi Arabia Needs Oil Price of $96.20/bbl in 2024: IMF

Saudi Arabia will require an average oil price of $96.20/bbl this year, if the producer decides to hold output steady close to 9.3mbpd, the IMF said in its economic outlook.

  • That is up 21% from the October forecast, when the fund assumed Saudi output to be at 10mbpd this year.
  • Under the scenario that Saudi Arabia relaxes the supply cuts and production is rebounding to 10.3mbpd next year, the oil price required would fall to $84.70/bbl.
