Security Cabinet Meeting Underway "All Options" For Retaliation On Table

ISRAEL

A meeting of Israel's security cabinet is shortly due to get underway to formulate a response to today's barrage of missiles fires from Lebanese territory.

  • Barack Ravid at Axios tweets: "Minister of defense Yoav Gallant instructed the IDF to prepare all possible options of retaliation for the rocket attack from Lebanon and present them to the security cabinet tonight, the ministry of defense said in a statement."
  • A White House NSC Spokesperson said a short time ago: "Our commitment to Israel’s security remains ironclad. We recognize Israel’s legitimate right to defend its people and territory against all forms of aggression."
  • Spokesperson for UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, Stephane Dujarric, told reporters, “We condemn the multiple rockets being fired from Lebanon into northern Israel today,” and asked all parties to “avoid any unilateral action that could further escalate the situation.”
