Sharp Slowdown In Net Asset Purchases

ECB net asset purchases fell sharply in the week ending 30 July, to E9.0bln, from E32.8bln the week prior. That was the lowest total since the week ending April 2 and the 3rd lowest of 2021.

PEPP net buys amounted to E10.7bln, less than half the prior week, while PSPP holdings contracted and Covered Bond / ABS were steady. CSPP slowed only slightly (from E1.1bln to E0.8bln).
