Shell Boost LNG Supplies

Shell said in a statement today they have approved the investment decision to progress the Crux natural gas field off the coast of Western Australia.

  • Construction for the project is expected to start this year and first gas is expected in 2027.
  • The project will feed the 3.6 million tonne a year Prelude LNG facility.
  • Global LNG demand has soared as countries look for alternatives to Russian gas. “The project will also boost our customers’ security of supply, which is becoming an ever more significant consideration for global consumers.” according to the statement.
