Sleipner Gas Production Norway Partly Down Due to Leaks

Equinor has confirmed via an official statement that gas leaks on the Sleipner A turbine and the Sleipner R riser platform this week have resulted in parts of the field being shut down.

  • Equinor has not commented on when the field will resume normal operation.
  • Gas production from the Sleipner field fell by 16.9 million cubic metres per day following the leaks, data from North Sea gas infrastructure operator Gassco showed.
