CANADA: Small business survey shows 43% of firms have reduced employee hours
since COVID-19 outbreak, 20% have made temporary layoffs.
*Online survey by Canadian Federation of Independent Business taken starting
March 13 and has 8,730 responses.
*31% of survey says revenue down 11-25% since outbreak; 23% of survey said
revenue has fallen from 26-50%; 17% say it's down more than 50%.
*62% of firms say only 10% or less of business can be quickly shifted to
isolation.
*Members call for relief on payroll and sales tax, relaxed tax filing
obligations, wage subsidies.
