  • The Democratic Alliance's (DA's) Johannesburg caucus will call a meeting to decide whether the party will support African National Congress's (ANC's) mayoral candidate Dada Morero following the resignation of Jama-ah’s Kabelo Gwamanda. The party's provincial leaders said that they would like to see stability in the metropolitan area going forward. The new mayor could be installed by the end of this week.
  • Eskom said that it would be implementing rolling blackouts in parts of Johannesburg due to the planned maintenance, even as South Africa continues to enjoy a reprieve from nationwide loadshedding.
  • South Africa's July SACCI Business Confidence will cross the wires at 10:30BST/11:30SAST. The June reading of retail sales will be released at 12:00BST/13:00SAST, with consensus looking for a 1.0% Y/Y growth in inflation-adjusted sales.
