SPAIN DATA: Spain Industrial Production Marginally Firmer Than Consensus

Spain September industrial production was a tenth higher than consensus on a monthly basis printing 0.5% M/M (vs -0.1% prior). On a seasonally and calendar adjusted annual basis it also exceeded expectations at 0.6% Y/Y (vs 0.2% consensus, -0.1% in August) - the highest reading since February 2024.

  • The higher than above M/M reading was driven by non-durable consumer goods reading 1.1% M/M (vs -1.1% in August), whilst durable consumer goods production capped the upside move printing -1.7% M/M (vs 3.3% in August) .
