Spain Naturgy Starts 300MW Spanish PV Project Build

Spanish utility Naturgy Energy Group has started to build a 300MW PV project in Spain, with operations to begin in 2026, according to the firm.

  • The project is in the Extremadura region- western Spain and will produce around 515 GWh/yr once complete.
  • The project will push the firm renewable capacity in Extremadura to around 442MW.
  • Naturgy has around 3.3GW of wind, 2.2GW of hydro and 1GW of PV in operation. It expects to end the year with around 8GW of operational installed capacity.
  • The utility has also been given government approval for a 225MW PV project in northern Spain.
