Speculators Shed JPY, Build AUD in Friday's CFTC Release

  • Net positioning in AUD switched to a small net long according to Friday's CFTC release, with speculators adding a net of 7,677 contracts to push the net position from a small net short to a net long at 4.0% of open interest.
  • Markets also built GBP, NZD and CAD net positions.
  • Speculators trimmed exposure to the JPY most notably, selling just over 9,000 contracts to reduce the net long to 10.2% of open interest.
