Spending Rule At Risk (BBG)

(Bloomberg) -- Brazil will likely have to breach its spending cap rule one more time this year to pay for a program designed to save jobs during the pandemic.

  • With the worsening of the health crisis, pressure has been building on the government to resume a program in which it temporarily pays part of employee salaries. The Economy Ministry plans to make the official announcement in the next few weeks.
  • USDBRL maintaining upward trajectory above 5.80.
