Sri Lanka is open to buying more Russian crude its Prime Minister told the Associated Press over the weekend as the nation faces severe energy shortages.

  • Ranil Wickremesinghe said to the Associated Press that the country would look to other sources first before looking at Russian options.
  • The country is facing a severe financial crisis leading to fuel shortages and power cuts. The government is struggling to pay for imports on the international market.
