Stage 6 Load-Shedding Continues Until Further Notice After Koeberg Unit 2 Trips

SOUTH AFRICA
  • South Africa's rolling blackouts effectively exceeded Stage 6 last week, local media outlets reported over the weekend, albeit Eskom denied taking more than 7,000MW of capacity off the grid. • Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana took additional funding off the table, noting that "the utility does not require any further cash injection." Godongwana was speaking after Electricity Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa called for more support for the embattled energy company.
